South Sudan confirms its first case of Coronavirus

The Republica of South Sudan has recorded its first case of the novel Coronavirus, Nsemwoha.com can confirm.

In a communication by the presidentency sighted by Nsemwoha.com, the letter said the patient, reported to the UN Clinic in Juba on 2nd April with fever, cough, headache and shortness of breath.

South Sudan’s ministry of Health’s rapid response team went to the clinic and collected samples the same day.

The initial test came out positive yesterday 4th April 2020, and so did a second test, making it the country’s first confirmed case of Covid-19.
