On Tuesday, the NDC and other fringe political parties in Ghana embarked on a demonstration dubbed “Yennpini” to register their displeasure with the Electoral commission of Ghana’s move to compile a new voters register.
The demonstration was the second after the first was held in the Northern regional capital Tamale.
Documents sighted by nsemwoha reveals the amount of money splashed on just the Kumasi demonstration.
The organizers, The inter-party resistance against new voter register, according to the document spent a mammoth GHC974,900 on the demonstration.
The money was spent on items such as Accommodation, feeding, transportation, media and publicity, Honorarium etc, on an expected crowd of 20,000.
NO FURTHER YENPINI DEMONSTRATIONS
The organizers, led by the NDC have said the are not going to hold further demonstrations until further notice, as they wait on the result of further consultations with the Electoral.
