Following the rescue of 2 Canadians both female and aged 19 and 20, more details are coming to fore of what really ensued while they were in the custody of the kidnappers.
Today, Minister for Information, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah revealed to the press that although there was no mention or discussions of ransom with Ghanaian security operatives and the kidnappers, the family of the 2 ladies were told to pay a whopping $800,000 before the release of the girls by the kidnappers.
The intention behind the kidnapping was originally murky but it has become clear that at least there was also a financial motive behind the abduction.
