Professor Ransford Edward Gyampo’s recent outbursts on issues raised about the competence of the management of the University of Ghana and some other social issues have attracted a lot of backlash.
He was recently lambasted by a section of the public for claiming the election of entertainers to power was detrimental to the nation and political parties.

Many has also called out the vociferous professor for his reply to Senyo Hosi, the CEO of Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors after Mr. Senyo slammed University management for not being innovative enough.
One such remark has come from a social media influencer called Kweku Agyemang-Duah.
Mr Agyemang-Duah called the Professor a dinosaur whose way of thinking is extinct, therefore presenting a danger to the future of Ghana’s education system.
Mr. Agyemang-Duah in a Facebook post wrote:
“Professor Yaw Gyampo is a dinosaur, yes you heard me right a remnant of an outdated structure oblivious to archeologists who lived and died two centuries ago.
It’s just sad and disappointing how a young vibrant person like him can possess such dead thought process when it comes to practicality, it appears he is out of touch with today’s reality and i feel sad for those students under his tutorship.
We are speaking of practicality and he is out here priding himself in some useless university ranking that goes far back and denotes zero merit in the lives of students who eventually have to face the harsh realities of education and life after their tertiary education.
He told me i am a risk to Ghanaian social media space who deserves to have his account shut down when i drew his attention to some erroneous claims he made with regards to the subject of, well i am also saying he is a danger to the future of our education system and deserve to have his primitive thought process on some subjects curtailed if he is going to be like the baby boomers who will do everything but accept contributions from a younger person that goes contrary to what they hold as valid. “
