The Western Regional secretary for the Ghana Association of Public Health Technical Officers GAPHTO, Mr. Prince Ishmael Dimah took advantage of the Townhall Meeting with the Economic management team to ask what the incumbent government was doing about the poor road network in the Upper West region, especially his native Sissala East and West.
Mr. Dimah who was an Upper West Regional Organizer candidate in the 2018 NPP regional elections asked the Vice president Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Chairman of the EMT whether the roads in Sissala East and West were part of the Sinohydro deal which is said to begin this year and when the roads in the said constituencies would be constructed. He also used the opportunity to ask about work on the Paa Grant roundabout at Takoradi where he works. The roundabout is a hotspot for heavy vehicular traffic and needs major reconstruction to ease traffic.
Mr. Dimah wrote on his Facebook page: “Today at the EMT Town Hall Meeting I made a brief appeal to H.E the Vice President to consider seriously roads in Upper West especially Sissala East and West where I hail from.
I also mentioned that he should consider constructing an overpass at Sekondi-Takoradi Paa Grant Roundabout to ease the huge traffic situation since time is a resource.”
