July indeed has been a bad month for police public relations. The Ghana police service has been rocked by a couple of scandals recently, latest is the slapping of a taxi driver by a policeman for purportedly jumping Traffic.
The incident occurred in front of the Multimedia forecourt as was reported on Facebook by Manasseh Azuri, a popular journalist of Joy FM.
Another witness, Gifty Andoh Appiah also wrote ” This afternoon I had to step in between a police officer and a taxi driver. He gave him 3 slaps before I managed to stop him. SHOCKED”
Manasseh Azuri uploaded the following pictures of the incident to his Facebook wall. In an accompanying video, people around went irate ,threatening to arrest the police officer for the abuse of the driver.
