The Pharoahs of Egypt were painfully eliminated by minnows South Africa who barely qualified for the round 16th stage of the ongoing African cup of nations, only making it as one of the best performing third placed teams.
The Egyptian fans however have declared their support for Ghana since their first love is out of the competition.
The relationship between Ghana and Egypt is one that dates back to the time before Ghana’s independence when our first President Dr. Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah met his wife Samia Nkrumah who hailed from Egypt.
Ever since then the bond between the country credited with being the cradle of civilization with arguably the richest history in the world and Ghana, the ambitious black star of Africa has remained one of family.
The Black Stars will be facing Tunisia in today’s second round of 16 match. The Black stars have dominated the Tunisians when it comes to the history of football in the continent and many Ghanaians are expectant that the history will continue with a resounding victory from the black stars of Ghana.
