According to kasapafmonline.com, Management of a Suhum based Hotel in the Eastern Region is chasing officials of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for refusing to pay arrears of almost GHC20,000 as hotel accommodation for delegates.
A document addressed to the National Executives of the party said six months after the conference, the Regional NPP executives have refused to pay the arrears.
The hotel manager tell Starr News that they’ve been compelled to seek redress from the National Secretariat.
“…It’s in respect of the National Delegates congress in Koforidua, my hotel was selected as one of the hotels to receive the delegates in Suhum. They made a deposit and the rest of the money has not been settled and it’s really frustrating because we need that money to run the business so it’s been a matter of concern to us. The amount is GHC20,210,00 of which they made a deposit of GHC2,000 so we’re looking at GHC18,210 to be settled and it’s not forthcoming.
“It’s been very frustrating, we’ve sent letters to the National Chairman and to the National Treasurer too as well voicing out our frustration of which we’ve not heard anything from them. In this business, we have workers we are paying, we have utilities to pay and so once this money is not being paid it’s really frustrating for us.”
