Politician, Actor and Entrepreneur John Dumelo has in an open plea to the president of the republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo requested that the University of Ghana medical center be opened to manage the rising cases of Coronavirus in the country.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Dumelo intimated that the Coronavirus count in Ghana which currently stands at 68 with 3 deaths is sure to rise and it is prudent that the 615 bed capacity hospital be opened to see to Covid-19 cases.
The Facilty is located in the Ayawaso West constituency where Mr. Dumelo is hoping to be voted the member of parliament in the 2020 election on the ticket of the NDC.
The UGMC was built during the erstwhile NDC administration but the current have refused to open it for full operation, citing the facilty doesn’t have the needed equipment to kick start full operations.
“The cases are now 68. We are not praying for it to increase but that looks inevitable now. I would like to please beg His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo to please open the 615 bed University of Ghana Medical Center for the purpose of managing the virus. Respectfully Sir.” John Dumelo wrote
