The National Democratic Congress NDC has released a statement informing its members and the general public that their National Chairman, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and the deputy National Communication officer, Mr. Kwaku Boahen will stand trial before Justice Asiedu’s High court number 1 tomorrow, 16th April for charges arising out of the leaked audio.
The preferred charges against them are Conspiracy to cause harm and Assault against public officer. The duo have outrightly denied the charges.
The leaked audio which surfaced in February 2019, supposedly recorded at a meeting between the National Chairman, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo and the communications department of the party, brought to bare malicious plans by Mr. Ampofo for the coming 2020 elections. The CID invited Mr. Ofosu Ampofo for questioning concerning what he said in the leaked tape and proceeded to press charges against them.
