The Nadowli-Kaleo District of the Upper West region is set to get a 21-Megawatt solar plant to connect more of its communities and homes to electricity.
The Nadowli-Kaleo District chief executive Hon. Katherine T .Lankono, led a delegation from the Volta River Authority to cut sod for the construction of the solar plant in the district.
The 21 megawatts solar plant will be based in Kaleo and is expected to be completed in the next 15 months.
The DCE appealed to the contractor to employ youth in the communities to work with them on the project, she also called on the contractor to ensure the project is of the best quality.
