In a society that is full of self serving people and where selfishness has become the order of the day, little selfless acts could mean so much especially the underprivileged in our community.
The actions of one pupil teacher has caught the attention of the Nsemwoha.com team once again.
Daniel Gyewu is a pupil teacher at the Yirenkyikrom District Assembly Primary school in the Kwahu South District, Eastern Region of Ghana, who spends his after school hours barbering the bushy hair of pupils in the school where he tutors.
The selfless act of Daniel Gyewu is quite a costly one because he procures the blades, and other equipment needed to give his pupils a nice clean shave.
In his own words, teacher Daniel says, “Due to the financial constraints in the locality and the fact that many students come to school with bushy hair, he took it upon himself to devote time, buy blades and barber them himself.”
His barbering skills is not in doubt judging by the pictures of students on the receiving end of this benevolent gesture.
Daniel Gyewu had his teacher training education at the Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong and attended Mt. Sinai Senior High school.
Earlier this year, we reported of another teacher, Naomi who spent her break times sewing torn uniforms of pupils in her school, and for free.
