The transfer ban FIFA imposed on Chelsea for breaking youth transfer rules has been overturned.
Chelsea who protested the ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) got the ban turned by the courts ruling.
This means Chelsea, who have been performing surprisingly well with a squad made up primarily of youth and academy players can acquire new players to help their campaign as soon as this January transfer window.
Chelsea currently sit 4th on the premier league table, a position not many envisioned when relatively inexperienced Frank Lampard was appointed manager and only had to himself a young squad and a few experienced players.
It is expected the blues will sign a few players in January to bolster their hopes of cementing a top 4 place in the league and progressing further in the champions league.
