A Nigerian social media sensation Eze Nwanyi has responded to the rants by bitter single mothers who chose to celebrate themselves on father’s day.

Yesterday, most single mothers especially celebrities took to social media to celebrate themselves instead of celebrating the fathers of their children. Most of them also qualified their messages with the word, “responsible” fathers.

In her lengthy post on the popular Nigerian group “Rant HQ” on Facebook, she explained that; “A Father is anyone who put sperm in you that fertilized an egg that turned to a child or children. Responsible, deadbeat, absentee or abusive. He’s still a FATHER”.

“Won’t you people let men celebrate their one day? We hear these “I’m a father and mother” gist every year. I think it’s highly insensitive and unnecessary. If you feel the father of your kids is an animal, then keep quiet on Father’s day. It’s not by force to say something on Father’s day”, she added.

“I waited for today so I can say this after seeing a million different shit- brained post about Father’s day yesterday.

The term “Father” means a male parent or begetter. The dictionary didn’t say “a responsible male parent or responsible begetter.”

The term “Mother” means a female parent or begetter. I haven’t seen anything like “a response female parent”
Father and mother are simple biological terms!

I’ll be very direct now because it’s as if this English language won’t drive my point home. A Father is anyone who put sperm in you that fertilized an egg that turned to a child or children. Responsible, deadbeat, absentee or abusive. He’s still a FATHER.

We’ve celebrated Mother’s Day almost thrice this year and it’s just June. You won’t hear anyone talk about bad mothers on Mother’s Day or you think their are no terrible, irresponsible mothers?

Don’t you know that their are single fathers who are playing dual roles in the lives of their children? I used to date one guy who had to take his child away from his baby mama on grounds that she’s very abusive and also a big drug head. He takes care of that child all by himself. We won’t see these men make posts calling themselves mothers on Mother’s day the way you attention seeking females do.

We know a lot of women are being mistreated by Men but that still won’t take away our sense of judgement. We know a lot of single Mothers are taking care of and raising kids all alone. We understand the pain and struggle and we’re proud of you. God will bless y’all abundantly. But you’re still not a Father ịnụgo? You are a woman and that makes you a Mother.

No matter how much you want to scream and shout on Father’s day, you’ll still sit down when you’re in a meeting and Fathers are asked to stand up.

I even saw pictures of some celebrities dressed up in Agbada with makeup that made them look like men. Calling themselves “king” “Father” and all that rubbish simply because they’re single Mothers.

Won’t you people let men celebrate their one day? We hear these “I’m a father and mother” gist every year. I think it’s highly insensitive and unnecessary. If you feel the father of your kids is an animal, then keep quiet on Father’s day. It’s not by force to say something on Father’s day.
Wait for another round of Mother’s day and celebrate yourself.
