Information reaching nsemwoha.com indicates immigration officials have in their custody the Chinese rosewood smuggler Helen Huang who went missing and has been on the run since then. The arrest occured on Monday night.
Dubbed Sister of Chinese Galamsey queen Aisha Huang, Ms Helen Huang was arrested for trying to smuggle several containers of rosewood, from the Northern region to Tema for export. Felling of rosewood has been banned in the country.
She went missing after a freelance journalist Mr. Mohammed Bondirigbum based in Tamale stood as surety for her and was last heard to have left the country but was in the West African sub region.
Stephen Zouri of Mynewsgh reports immigration officials have confirmed her arrest.
