There’s a popular saying that Africans celebrate the dead and that, we would rather say all the nice things about people when they’re dead than alive.
Bishop Bernard Nyarko, the venerable actor and man of God who passed on Yesterday, left the world with a powerful message in one of his sermons.
Prior to his death, he had the chance to preach to a congregation and these were last words we all can remember him with.
He said; “Help me whiles I am alive, don’t wait till I die. There are some friends, immediately you tell them you have a problem, they will not pick your calls again”.
Effectively admonishing us to do away with brotherly hatred and be there for those who need us, and not wait for them to die before shedding crocodile tears and contributing all the money for a fine funeral.
