Popular hip hop rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong known by his stage name Medikal, has recounted how he started his hustle before life changed for him.
Speaking in an interview with Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu on his KM TV Aggressive Interview show, the rapper said growing up was a bit difficult for him. “Life was a bit rough and smooth, but the rough part prepared me for who I am today’, he said.
According to the reigning VGMA best rapper, he used to stay with his mother because the father was out of the country. He was helping his mother in the everyday hustle and bustle because life was not easy for them.
He revealed that there were days that he could go to bed without eating because he couldn’t afford gari and sugar.
The hardship pushed him to move to circle to sell mobile phones. Without proper accommodation, he slept in undignified places including under the Kaneshi bridge for about three weeks. The lights of fortune shone on him when he met his record label boss, Criss Waddle.
