At the onset of the outbreak, parents and students in China, especially Hubei province agitated for government to repatriate them to Ghana, fearing for their lives.

Honestly, I feel so pampered as a Ghanaian student in China.

Other International students in my university were in “state of shock”. They asked “does your country, Ghana think about you guys this much? Your country gave each student in Hubei province $500 and food. Today too your embassy has given Ghanaian students in China bags of rice and bottles of oil. Are you sure your country is in Africa?”

I started asking myself questions. Is it because we don’t value what we have as a country until we lose? Or we deliberately keep mute on the good things and project only bad happenings as Ghanaians?

I think it is hightime we appreciate and value what we have now for others wish to be in our situation but struggling to climb the ladder.
