
English born Tariq Lamptey of Ghanaian origin has made his English Premier league dubut with Chelsea against their London rivals Arsenal.
The match which ended 2-1 in favor of Chelsea saw Lamptey introduced in the 59th minute, replacing another Chelsea Youngster Fikayo Tomori.

He immediately impressed with a fine pass that almost led to a goal and contributed positively throughout the rest of the game to hand Chelsea a well fought win.
Lamptey is just 19 years of age and was born in Hillingdon, England. He is a diminutive, fast and tenacious player who can operate in any defensive or attacking role on the right side and made his youth team debut at the end of 2016/17 away at Manchester City.

In his first season as a scholar, Lamptey was the highest Under-18s appearance-maker and contributed with 11 assists as Jody Morris’s side secured an unprecedented Quadruple of trophies.

His only goal of the campaign came in the national league final at Manchester United, the last in our 3-0 victory, cementing his attacking prowess from wing-back. A stellar season was rewarded with a first international call-up in the summer of 2018 as the teenager headed to Finland with the England Under-19s for the European Championship finals.
