The administration of the Ghana Education Trust Fund, GETFund has come out to deny media reports that 3 senior members of government benefited from the scholarship scheme.
According to GETFund, Hon. Adwoa Sarfo, MP for Dome Kwabenya and Minister for procurement, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minister for Education and MP for Manhyia constituency and Dr. Prince Hamid Armah are not on the list of beneficiaries under the current administration as being purported in the media.
The fund also responded to claims in the media and public space that the outfit is supposed to only award its scholarships to needy but brilliant students.

The Fund said that under their mandate in Act 581 of the GETFund Act 2000, they can fund other persons of officials to pursue education to serve strategic national interests.
