In guiding Chelsea to 2-1 victory against Watford Frank Lampard equalled the all-time Blues record set by the manager Bobby Campbell.
More than 30 years ago, Campbell produced seven consecutive away win in all competitions (the run happened in February-April of 1989). Yesterday, Frank managed to achieve the same streak.
It started with 3-2 Norwich victory in August, followed by Wolverhampton win at Molineaux, Southampton victory at St. Mary’s and Burnley demolition at Turf Moor. Lampard’s side added two away wins in the Champions League to the mix – 2-1 victory against Lille and 1-0 clutch game vs Ajax.
The next away match for Lampard’s men puts them for a real challenge to continue the streak. Chelsea will make the daunting trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on Premier League champions Manchester City.
But before that, the Blues have two home fixtures. Firstly they face Ajax in the Champions League in midweek. After that, they face Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
