Your Authoritative Ghana news platform Ghanatribune.com has sighted photos of a list of GNPC beneficiaries which shows former GNPC Board Chairman, Ato Ahwoi, gave scholarships to 3 of his Daughters to study abroad.
The list sighted named Nana Esi Ahwoi, Maame Esi Tutuwaa Ahwoi and Afua Akyaa Ahwoi as beneficiaries from the 2013-2014 academic years to the 2016-2017 academic years.
This follows the nationwide discussion on the GETFund scholarships being accessed by well-to-do ministers and MPs when they’re meant to cater for needy but brilliant students.
The concerns raised in the Ahwoi case herein is whether they were awarded on merit or because they simply were his daughters.
Again, the issue of conflict of interest arises as many have raised concerns, especially during those periods that these scholarships were awarded, that they applied, were interviewed for the GNPC Foundation scholarship after shortlisting but never awarded.
