Last friday, nsemwoha.com reported of the arrest of Ghanaian reggae Dancehall musician, Epixode by police following our sighting of a video of his arrest.
At the time it wasn’t clear why he got arrested and why there was so much commotion during the arrest.
The artist who performed the following day at Shatta Wale’s Reign Concert and Wonderboy album launch, has come out to explain what actually took place.
“We were stopped by the police around 11-12 am on our way back from a meeting in Tema. I don’t really know Tema so most of the time we end up using the map. My manager was the one driving. They gave us signals for some time but we couldn’t stop on time…we were trying to make it to a studio around East Legon. They started questioning my manager, asked for the necessary documents of which we provided.
“They were back and forth for some time while I was sitting in the car. We were not over speeding but we were using a DV number plate. I went out of the car when I heard the police shouting at my manager. Tempers were high at that time but there was no physical attack. I got pissed because we provided everything that they asked but they still refused to let us go,” he said.
