The public utilities regulatory commission PURC has announced that effective July 01, 2019, electricity tariffs will see an increase of 11.17%.
This decision it says was arrived at after a comprehensive review of all proposals tabled by the major stakeholders and upon prudent financial analyses and evaluation.
PURC is mandated by law to mediate between utilities providers and consumers, ensuring quality of service while deciding a fair tarrif for both electricity and Water services.
The commission will announce at a later date tariffs for water as it has received a proposal from the Ghana Water company, it said in a statement.
