Ghana Integrity initiative, the local chapter of the world renowned anti-corruption watchdog Transparency International has issued a statement debunking reports it has released a corruption Index report in which Ghana was adjudged the second most corrupt country in Africa.
The said publication which was sourced from Ghanaguardian and carried by Ghanaweb had the title “Ghana 2nd most corrupt country in Africa-Report” and cited Transparency International as the source of the corruption report.

In a statement, Ghana Integrity initiative denied the release of any such report by their parent organization and entreated the public to disregard it for it was palpable falsehood.
The statement read:

The attention of Ghana Integrity Initiative (Gll), the local chapter of Transparency International has been drawn to a story caried by Ghanaweb.com with the headline “Ghana 2nd most corrupt country in Africa-Report”. The story was sourced from ghanaguardian.com attributing the said report to Transparency International.
GIl wishes to unequivocally state that the said article is false. Transparency International has not issued any such report and therefore Gll entreats the general public to disregard the said article.
