A serving military officer with the Ghana Armed Forces yesterday attracted the admiration of the public after he was spotted engaging some passengers in a commercial vehicle.
The officer was captured in an amateur video in which he took his time to educate some citizens in a ‘Trotro’ as to why they need to stay home; save themselves and save others.
“…but it is better than losing your lives. Go through the hardships in the house, it is better than losing your lives. It is better than you leaving this world. Your maker up there has a purpose for you so please stay home.”, he was heard saying in the video.
“I hope you understand what I am saying. Make it very easy for everybody. We all have our families, we could have been staying with our family back home but we’re out here working for God and the country and then for you so please stay home, don’t make it difficult for us”.
In the midst of the unprofessional conduct of some military and police officers in the enforcement of the partial lock-down, his approach has been lauded on social media for achieving so much without the use of brute force.
The officer has been identified as Lt. Col. Michael Mfum; a Commanding Officer the 48 Engineers Regiment.
