Customers of Midlands Savings and loans thronged to the east legon branch to withdraw their monies this morning only to find the company did not open for business today.
This is as a result of the video released on Friday of the assault of Patience Osafo, a customer of the Bank and rumours the bank was facing liquidation.
The Bank sites security issues for not opening on Monday and will soon open for business.
Some customers lamented their ordeal to a reporter on Accra based Joy FM
“I’m here for my money from the bank. I have GHC2500 with them but I was given just GHC700 last week”.
“I came here last week Wednesday for my money, they gave me GHC500 out of GHc6000. I was there on Thursday and Friday but they said I should come back on Monday”.
The bank since last week has been giving the excuse of connectivity issues as being the reason customers were unable to withdraw their savings with the bank.
Backup internet service provider of the bank, KNet has denied any downtime or slow connectivity to Midlands as being reported by the Bank.
KNet said it has audited the Midland system and found no connectivity issues and that the bank has not reported any downtime or connectivity issue to them.
