MTN has dashed its customers 2Gigabit of internet data as compensation for their recent connectivity issues that affected internet services.
The network gave the 2GB data to all customers and have given them a 48hour window to use it all or the data will expire.
But customers of Ghana’s biggest and perhaps fastest internet service provider has accused the telco giant of deliberately capping their internet speed to a snail’s pace.
The intent, although unclear, customers say MTN did so to ensure they’re unable to use the data dashed them for obvious reasons.
One customer, Stanley Coffie wrote on Facebook: “Mtn gives u 2g data as a compensation for “terrible” service to use under 48hrs and then restrict the flow of internet speed. From whatever to 0.000001k/s. Take your data and restore my internet speed. Else you’re telling us that the internet problem is not resolved yet!”
Another, Isaac Gyebi wrote: “You dash me 2Gig of data and it’s taking hours to download just 4mgb of a track. You people eeeer, There is God ooo”
It is unknown if the speed cap was a condition of the 2GB dash as obviously, users have seen a drastic slowdown of their internet speed. MTN, is yet to respond to the issue.
