Mayor Marty Walsh of the city of Boston in the United States of America has ordered that all schools be closed down effective 6pm today as a measure to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
The move means more students will be studying from home and mainly online, therefore the Mayor has offered students a google chromebook laptop for their online study.
Mayor Walsh also said all library services, have been expanded and all expirations on passes and renewals extended.
Library users will be able to keep for books for longer than the usual four weeks as the city goes on lockdown.
“We purchased additional chromebooks to be able to distribute to the students” he reiterated in a press briefing.
The chromebooks purchase and distribution is sponsored by benevolent individuals and organizations who made generous donations to the city.
