Just a couple of days ago, news of the murder of a 90 year old woman, suspected to be a witch flooded the airwaves.
The incident happened at Kafaba, a village near Salaga in the East Gonja municipality. The alleged ‘witch’ was gruesomely lynched by two women who are believed to be the soothsayers who pronounced her as a witch.
The news was condemned by all and calls for the arrest of the perpetrators was heightened. A hashtag of Justice for Nanabaa started trending on social media.
The inspector general of police has even dispatched a team of homicide experts to the community to hunt down the perpetrators.
Hiplife artist, Lil Uzi Vert Planet has added his voice to calls to bring the perpetrators to book. He shared a flyer of the #Justice4Nanabaa saying that the nonsense of lynching people must stop.

Ghanaians seem to have a soft spot for mob justice. A couple of years ago, a gallant soldier, Maxwell Adam Mahama was lynched by a mob.
