Just a couple of days ago, news of the murder of a 90 year old woman, suspected to be a witch flooded the airwaves.
The incident happened at Kafaba, a village near Salaga in the East Gonja municipality. The alleged ‘witch’ was gruesomely lynched by two women who are believed to be the soothsayers who pronounced her as a witch.
The news was condemned by all and calls for the arrest of the perpetrators was heightened. A hashtag of Justice for Nanabaa started trending on social media.
The inspector general of police has even dispatched a team of homicide experts to the community to hunt down the perpetrators.
Hiplife artiste, Captain Planet has added his voice to calls to bring the perpetrators to book. He shared a flyer of the #Justice4Nanabaa saying that the nonsense of lynching people must stop.

Ghanaians seem to have a soft spot for mob justice. A couple of years ago, a gallant soldier, Maxwell Adam Mahama was lynched by a mob.
