The Bank of Ghana at a press conference on friday has announced the introduction of the GH₵100 and GH₵200 denominations to the Ghana cedi currency mix.

It has also introduced a GH¢2 coin in addition to the already existing GHc2 note.
The new higher denominations are to help cash transactions of large amounts which become bulky to handle and carry.

The mother bank admonished the general public to get to know their currency and keep the it clean.
