The presidency has responded to some allegations labelled against it by AfricaWatch magazine which claims to have exposed rot in the acquisition of a proper in Islo for Ghana’s Swedish Consulate.
The paper indicted both the president and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and regional integration Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey in what it called a “Conspiracy to steal”, the contents of which impugned criminal conduct on the part of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, in Government’s attempts to purchase properties for its newly opened embassy in Oslo, the capital of Norway.
In response the presidency has called the publication “baseless, libellous and scurrilous”.
We will deal with publishers, editors and distributors of the publication will be dealt with in the appropriate forum.
The Magazine, Africa Watch reported what proved to be false health reports of the president before the 2016 elections, saying the president had cancer.
The Magazine is widely seen as a leftist paper which is in bed with socialist parties across the continent, supporting their agenda by churning out false allegations against opponents on the center to right of the political spectrum.
