On Saturday, October 19, 2019, Second Lady Samira Bawumia was honored at the 9th Edition of the 2019 African Fashion and Modeling Awards, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The award was a recognition of her efforts in the empowerment of women and the youth, promotion of creative arts, as well as vocational and skills training.
While there, She also Commissioned a Professional School for Fashion Trades and Modeling with H.E Kandia Camara, Minister for National Education, Vocational, Technical and Professional Training of the Republic of Côte D’Ivoire.
