13 Students Confirmed Dead In Stampede Incident


13 students have been confirmed dead in Kakamega County, in Kenya during a stampede in the school.

The stampede happened in a day school at around 5 pm on Monday when a teacher was reportedly caning some of the students.

This caused students to run away causing a stampede that saw 13 students die.

According to Kakamega central police commander David Kabena 20 other students have been treated and have been discharged from hospital.

39 others, the police say are admitted at Kakamega General Hospital nursing serious injuries.
